Synopsis[]

Texas winter has finally begun, which means half the trees think its spring, you'd think about wearing a jacket and you always want a winter wonderland like you see in video games.

10. Cliffhanger - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Nick is not an FPS fan, but Call of Duty was fun. Cliffhanger is a big action piece that you get to play through. It is a stealth mission that goes south. The player hits the Michael Bay button and starts spraying everything with bullets. Snow mobiles show up, and you murder them! Nick is excited as he floors it on his snow mobile.

9. Phendrana Drifts - Metroid Prime. Most great snow levels are about the cheery, holiday side of winter. Phendrana Drifts is a quiet, lonely wasteland. Nick remembers killing a mother, and orphaning the babies. You get a cool wave beam out of it.

8. Your town in winter - Animal Crossing. Nick gets giddy when it gets to winter time in Animal Crossing. Does this count as a level? It is the best time of year in Animal Crossing. It is peaceful to see the snow - which is especially nice for Nick because of Texas. Toy Day and the countdown to the new year are special events. Building snowman offers new rewards, or give sentience to them. Nick needs Animal Crossing on his Switch.

7. Cool, Cool Mountain - Super Mario 64. Mario 64 has two snow levels. Everything about Snowman Mountain is an a-hole! Cool, Cool, Mountain is a delight, including sacrificing the baby penguin. You can race a bigger penguin for a star. If you want a challenge, you can play the green demon challenge on it. And throw baby penguins to their doom!

6. Hoth - Shadows of the Empire. Shadows of the Empire's opening level allowed us to participate in Hoth's epic battle. The thrill of wrapping up the walkers. It is a shame the rest of the  game isn't as good.

5. Mount Wario - Mario Kart 8. Some of the best Mario Kart races are the ones without laps. Mount Wario is one of the best races in the game. After being launched out of a helicopter, the races race through an alpine section, through caves a ski resort and more. The music transitions between each section. It's not a command, unless you want it to be.

4. Heart of Ice - Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. You don't have to deal with your AI partner much at all. There are cool ancient puzzles, making it awe inspiring. It turns into a gunfight with demon yetis. Doe the guys fingers ever get cold? Or tired?

3. Snowpeak Ruins - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Nick wishes that Nintendo would go for another dark Zelda game. Snowpeak Ruins was one of the best levels in the game. Nick didn't realize that after following the yeti into his house that it was a dungeon. You can only fill your health with the soup. The ruins tells its own story. The shard corrupts the yeti's wife so much that she becomes the boss at the end of the dungeon. It is the COOLEST Zelda dungeon Nick has ever played.

2. Cliffside Slide - Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. There are a lot of people with Switches, and not enough with Tropical Freeze. Cliffside Slide is the final silhouette level. DK scales the blizzard of his own island. You feel like a king taking his rightful place on the throne.Nick replayed it a lot for fun.

1. Freezeezy Peak - Banjo-Kazooie. Winter is building up for Groundhog Day, and followed by Christmas. Banjo-Kazooie's Christmas level is magical from the moment you walk in. You decorate a Christmas tree, climb a giant snowman, deliver presents to kids, and beat his dad ina  sled race twice. Grank Kirkhope's music will give a sense of wonder. Nick gives a second sample of the music - for a second.

11. Ski Free. Window's favorite "I'm bored" game - Ski Free. Set trees on fire, knock down other skiiers, and get eaten by a yeti!
