Synopsis[]
Boss battles kick ass. Music ties it all together. Craig introduces brentalfloss. Craig explains that he wants to talk about 8-bit music. brentalfloss invites himself in, and introduces himself as 'uninvited brentalfloss'.
10. Batman. One of the best games on the NES. This track has great energy. Brent sings with the music.
9. SMB 2 Wart Theme. Craig wanted to show the boss fight against Wart, but he is out of practice, so he fights Birdo instead. Craig sucks. The theme is frantic and intense. Craig spoils the ending.
8. Wonder Boy 3. The music on the Master System sucked, so this is the only game to feature on the list. Wonder Boy 3 was a great game with a sweet end boss theme. Brent didn't have a Master System, so he doesn't know about Wonder Boy. Brent makes a Tenacious D reference. Craig is not amused.
7. Ninja Gaiden. Boss battle music have three categories; A: Scary, B: Awesome, and C: The ones that make the player want to dance. This feels like Thriller, complete with dancing zombies. Craig is confused.
6. Kid Icarus - Reaper Theme. Craig describes the adorable Kid Icarus, until the player is insulted by death, both on screen and through the speakers. It creates a challenge by disorientating the player.
5. Mega Man 2 (Final Answer). The ScrewAttack crew went through all the Mega Man tracks and found that Mega Man 2 was the best one. Brent doesn't agree, and wants to say 3. 2 sounds like a gay club! Craig and brentalfloss argue.
4. Fester's Quest. This is one of the rare 8-bit tunes that used mixed meter. brentalfloss discuss why the music is so different and awesome. One of the only other mixed meter songs is the Moon theme from Ducktales.
3. Contra. This game is tough, and the music makes it seem tougher. Brent has never beaten Contra. Craig interupts Brent after Brent insulted Craig for not beating Mario 2. brentalfloss apologises for making fun of Craig.
2. River City Ransom. This music is intimidating, and it makes the player sound like a badass. brentalfloss sings with the music. Brent is surprised when Craig says that there is one more entry.
1. TMNT. This is a trifecter. The boss is intimidating, the hero seems awesome, and Michael Jackson is dancing with zombie turtles in Brent's mind. Craig is lost again. The game is pretty much impossible to beat. Craig describes how to beat the boss.
